||Hapo
||Hapo means "dream" in Khoekhoegowab. For a sleeping elephant, the name has an obvious literal charm, but its deeper meaning lies in the future. Namibia's wildlife has survived drought, hunting and enormous environmental change. To protect it is to dream forward—to imagine that elephants will still move across these landscapes long after we are gone.
