Callistemon pallidus 'Bianco'

Callistemon pallidus 'Bianco' rewrites two bottlebrush rules at once: the brushes open soft cream-white rather than red, and the plant is genuinely hardy, rated H4 thanks to its origins in the mountains of south-east Australia. The pale flowers glow against grey-green leaves and silky, pink-tinged new growth, and they hold their light at dusk when red kinds vanish.It grows into a graceful, arching evergreen of around 2 m, humming with bees through its summer flush. Established plants take around -10C in free-draining soil, making this one of the few callistemons for colder gardens without a wall to lean on.How and where to grow Position: full sun to very light shade.
