SimNet SSQ-1 Sequential Shifter The SimNet SSQ-1 Sequential Shifter is a metal sequential shifter designed for sim racing, rally and drift setups. Its stainless-steel and CNC-machined aluminium construction combines adjustable resistance, configurable notch feel, a height-adjustable handle and a programmable multi-command grip. Metal Construction and Refined Finish Materials: stainless steel and CNC-machined aluminium Finish: powder coating designed to resist corrosion and provide a refined, non-slip texture Net weight: 1.5 kg Rigid construction designed for repeated sequential shifting Adjustable Notch Feel and Resistance The SSQ-1 lets you adjust the resistance and mechanical feel of the shifter to match your driving preferences. The supplied interchangeable detent balls can change the tactile response from a smoother, quieter movement to a more pronounced and audible notch. Adjustable notch and tactile feel Adjustable resistance Five interchangeable detent-ball types and sizes are documented in the selection guide Use matching balls of the same type and size on both sides Detent performance can also vary with spring preload adjusted through the grub screw Detent Ball Selection Nylon PA66, 7.5 mm: pre-installed, balanced notch and quiet click; recommended replacement after approximately 50,000 to 60,000 push/pull cycles Polyoxymethylene POM, 8.0 mm: quieter and less notchy; recommended replacement after approximately 70,000 to 80,000 cycles Zirconia ceramic ZrO2, 8.0 mm: self-lubricating, louder than nylon and quieter than steel, requiring little or no additional grease Steel, 7.5 mm: strongest notch and loudest click, with superior durability Steel, 7.92 mm: balanced notch and clear click, quieter than the 7.5 mm steel ball and highly durable Seamlessly Adjustable Handle Height The handle height can be adjusted continuously across a 25 mm range. This allows you to personalise the ergonomics, shift throw and notch feel for your seating position and driving style. Multi-Command Programmable Handle The multifunction handle provides instant engagement for neutral and reverse selections while allowing additional inputs to be programmed for frequently used controls. This places useful functions directly at your fingertips. USB and TRANSIT Connectivity USB port: direct connection to a compatible computer or system through the supplied USB connection TRANSIT port: direct connection to selected third-party wheelbases The TRANSIT connection can allow the shifter to be recognised as a native local device by a compatible wheelbase The document does not specify a complete list of compatible wheelbase brands or models Software Settings and Calibration The SimNet software provides basic and advanced settings for monitoring and adjusting the shifter input. Monitor gear-up and gear-down inputs Invert the shifter gear input to reverse the default push/pull mapping Set separate activation points for upshifts and downshifts Adjust the trigger point according to your driving style and reference values Use the shifter as a sequential input for gear up, release and gear down positions Interchangeable Handbrake Grip Options The SSQ-1 supports an interchangeable handbrake grip as an optional upgrade. The documented accessories are the A-HLE Handbrake Lever Extension, which allows adjustable length combinations, and the A-HSG Handbrake Soft Grip, which adds a softer ergonomic contact surface. Shifter and Handbrake Mounting The optional A-PHS mounting plate can hold the SSQ-1 and a SimNet handbrake together. Each unit can be adjusted independently horizontally, vertically and through a defined rotational range. The plate can be flipped for left-hand-drive or right-hand-drive cockpit layouts. What Is Included SSQ-1 Sequential Shifter unit Ergonomic hand grip USB connectivity cable Five interchangeable shift balls with varied textures and sizes Mounting hardware and adjustment tools Dimensions and Mounting Interface Overall height: 295 mm Base width: 145 mm Lower body width: 62 mm Knob diameter: 35 mm Upper handle section: 115 mm Mounting plate: eight M6 threaded positions and Ø7 through holes as shown in the technical drawing Additional mounting references shown in the drawing: 70 mm, 40 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm and 8 mm All dimensions are specified in millimetres Installation on an Aluminium Profile Rig The SSQ-1 can be installed on a T-slot aluminium extrusion frame. Insert two M6 spring nuts into the profile slot, position them to match the shifter mounting holes, place the shifter on the profile and secure it with two M6 × 12 socket-head screws. Tighten the screws securely after alignment. Installation on a Cockpit Mounting Plate For a rig with a mounting plate, place the shifter on the plate and align the threaded holes underneath the unit with the plate through holes. Install and tighten the two M6 × 12 socket-head screws. The technical drawing shows eight M6 mounting positions; the supplied installation procedure uses two screws. Mechanical Adjustments Handle height: use the supplied 3 mm hex wrench, loosen the four screws, slide the handle to the desired height and retighten the screws Detent ball replacement: use a 5 mm hex wrench to remove the two side screws, take out the spring and original ball, insert the new ball first, then the spring, and reinstall the grub screws Detent preload: turn the side adjustment screw clockwise to increase resistance and counter-clockwise to reduce it Adjust only a few degrees at a time; over-adjustment may cause improper operation Software and Firmware Updates Simconnetor Manager can notify you when software updates are available. The latest version can be checked at simnetracing.com/downloads. The manager also includes a function for automatically updating the firmware of connected devices.
