Origin and Terroir Balocchi N.º 1 comes from the Olmo vineyard, a single plot located at high altitude in Tuscany. The sandy-clay soils, rich in galestro, together with the constant ventilation provided by the vineyard’s location, create ideal conditions for preserving the freshness, acidity and aromatic purity of Sangiovese. The altitude and the constant influence of the winds allow the grapes to maintain excellent definition and balance, even in years of high temperatures. The Grape Variety Made exclusively from 100% Sangiovese, Balocchi N.º 1 is a particularly pure and elegant expression of this emblematic Tuscan grape variety. The 2022 vintage combines the ripeness provided by a warm year with the natural freshness resulting from the vineyard’s altitude and ventilation. Vinification and Ageing Aged for 18 months in used oak, allowing the wood to remain discreet and never overshadow the expression of the grape variety and terroir.
