Hussif Lime/ Red
The term hussif comes from the German word for housewife and refers to a holdall for all things 'wifely' i.e. a mending kit. Hussifs were traditionally heavily embellished and were held in high regard by their owners. They were often made and given as gifts. Our version is worked on silk with a printed cotton backing and includes a number of pockets for thimbles, stilettos, tapes measures etc. The entire piece is made by hand. Completed Hussif is 16cm W by 57H. Kit includes fabrics, threads and detailed instructions. The Lime/Red version includes DMC threads
