 Too few are aware of the rich Orthodox tradition of the Latin-speaking West, prior to the fall of Rome into heresy. The life of St. Benedict, founder of the Benedictine monastic tradition in the West, is truly that of an Orthodox saint, and finds a place in the great Menology of St. Dimitry, from which it is here translated.
