Liming Tea Factory 2019 "Gong Ting Wang" (Palace King) Ripe Puerh

A great representative cake that showcases the Liming Tea Factory (aka Ba Jiao Ting) style of Shou puerh production. This Gong Ting or "Palace Grade" cake is made with a small, bud-heavy grade of leaf, giving it a rich intensity while still being very smooth and silky, which is testament to the skilfull control of the fermentation process. The dry cake is a beautiful mahogany brown with flecks of dark orange-gold, the color we look for in a clean high quality blend. Flavor profile of 60% semi-sweet milk chocolate, grilled portobello mushroom and fragrant suede leather. Pleasantly sticky sweetness and rich coating mouthfeel of smooth bean paste. A great balance of sweetness, deep umami and a super clean, aromatic finish. Superb!
