Learn to knit stranded colorwork and add some color to your life this fall! In this 2-session class, you'll get hands-on guidance to help you master this intricate skill and knit a cozy, elegant cowl. We'll be making the First Colorwork Cowl together, a pattern from Brooklyn Tweed. It's a beautiful yet simple pattern that is a perfect place to start your colorwork journey. When: Sundays, September 20th & 27th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm You'll learn: Tips for choosing colors that compliment each other How to read a colorwork chart Managing floats for good tension Yarn dominance and more! Intermediate knitting skill level needed. You must be comfortable casting on, knitting and purling, working in the round, and increasing (make 1 method). Required Materials (not included): Pattern: First Colorwork Cowl from Jared Flood/Brooklyn Tweed available HERE Needles: US 8/5 mm and US 5/3.75 mm Yarn: 3 colors of worsted weight yarn (we used Woolstok Worsted from Blue Sky Fibers) You should have a light, medium & dark shade Main color: 160 yards First contrast color: 34 yards Second contrast color: 59 yards You will receive a 10% discount on supplies purchased in our store for this class as well as any purchases made on the day of. This is not a Learn-to-Knit class, you must be comfortable casting on, knitting and purling, working in the round, and increasing (make 1 method). Fine Print: Ages 14 & up. Classes are offered in person and are limited to a smaller number of participants. If you choose to cancel, you will receive a refund up to 48 hours prior to the beginning of the class. Refunds will be issued if your class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
