Description: A lyrical Edwardian 9ct Gold Sapphire drop pendant, delicately pierced with stylised leaves and scrolling motifs. At its heart sits a bright, round Sapphire, framed by romantic foliate openwork and finished with a dainty articulated Sapphire drop for graceful movement. The Sapphires total approximately 1.25ct, their vibrant medium-blue tones beautifully complemented by the warm glow of 9ct Gold. A tapered bail completes the design, ready to thread onto your favourite chain for effortless elegance. Item Details: ERA: Edwardian (1901–1909). MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 40mm long including bail. Pendant is 23mm wide. Central Sapphire measures 5.5mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.85ct. Drop Sapphire measures 4.5mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.40ct. Total approximate Sapphire weight: 1.25ct WEIGHT: 2g. MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Sapphire (1.25ct). HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation. Condition: VERY GOOD: Central Sapphire retains a lively colour; note one prong is missing at the top of the central setting. Some wear to the colouring of the Gold is visible on the front and back of the pendant, with light surface wear commensurate with age. Settings and openwork show minor signs of use but present nicely overall.
