You can use 880 for tool steels, high manganese, high carbon, low carbon, and even stainless steels. Used by some of the best in the business. This 1/8" rod is a bit big for most bicycle applications but we've gotten more than a few requests for it from people who do more than just bikes. This 1 pound of welding rod actually weighs in at approximately 17.7 ounces. The rods are pretty big and weigh just under 2 ounces each, so it isn't possible to get any closer to a pound without going under.
