We were just perusing the Vintage Fashion Guild for silhouettes and while that if this dress truly resembles some of the strong, military-type upper half and slimmer, fitted lower half silhouettes of that time, we are hesitant to name it as such because we found a care tag (which started to be in use only from the 1960s onwards) and serged seams. Nevertheless, it is such a well- and thoughtfully-made dress that we couldn’t pass it up. And even if it were to be from the 1980s, it is still such a gem. How so? •Hidden buttons down the front. • Pockets with neat and matching binding. • Bra-straps holder with snap buttons. • Fabric belt-loops (so well-made with the same material as the dress). Pinned?: No. But was belted to show how it looks when worn with one. Measurements: All measurements are taken with the garment laid flat. Please DOUBLE the measurements provided to get the approximate circumference measurements. Alternatively, you can take a piece of your own clothing, lay it flat, measure it and make a comparison. Size: L - XL (approx) Bust: Up to 20 inches Waist: Up to 17 inches. (Fixed waist but has belt loops if you’d like to cinch it tighter.) Hips: Up to 21 inches Armhole: 10.5 inches Sleeves: 16 inches (from the collar as there are no shoulder seams) Cuff: 7.5 inches Top length: 16.5 inches Total length: 45 inches Stretch: No. Lined: Yes Softness: Medium weight. Material: Care tag says 97% cotton and 3% spandex outer + 100% cotton lining. Tag: Had a brand tag that has been removed. Condition: Excellent.
