Kakishibu Place Mat
These patchwork linen placemats, created by Japanese textile artist Yoshimi Kudo, are dyed with kakishibu—fermented persimmon tannins used in Japan for centuries. The dyeing process creates warm, earthy tones with natural depth and variation, accentuated by the visible hand-pieced seams. The fabric will soften over time.
