Organic Spanish green Verdelli lemons

Verdelli lemons from Spain are a summer crop from the Verna lemon tree. The Verna variety is native to southeastern Spain, and the Verdelli lemons come from a second bloom that occurs much later than the usual season - a trick the Spanish picked up from their Sicilian cousins. These lemons often have a paler yellow or greenish-yellow skin because the smaller day-to-night temperature difference in summer doesn’t fully develop the deep yellow colour. With a thick, sometimes semi-smooth skin, they're juicy with lower acidity than winter lemons, and they tend to have fewer seeds. More about Carl.
