রেবা এবং সোমনাথ হোর। শিল্পীদম্পতি। এক বৃহত্তর জীবনপর্যায়ে তাঁদের সমবেত পথচলা। কমিউনিস্ট মতাদর্শে বিশ্বাসী উভয়েই প্রত্যক্ষ করেছেন দুর্ভিক্ষপীড়িত মানুষের আর্তি, দাঙ্গাবিধ্বস্ত শহরের হাহাকার, মুক্তিযুদ্ধের কান্না। বহির্জগতের এই অমীমাংসিত টানাপোড়েন তাঁদের শিল্পচেতনায় রেখাপাত করে গেলেও সত্তার বিভিন্নতায় সেই অনুরণন যেহেতু সম্পূর্ণ পৃথক, সুখ-দুঃখের যৌথজীবনে রেবা এবং সোমনাথ যথার্থই দুই ভিন্ন নাম। রেবা হোরের শতবর্ষের দোরগোড়ায় উভয়ের প্রতি নিরপেক্ষ অথচ গভীর অবলোকন সমৃদ্ধ স্মৃতিচারণায় এই প্রথম, শিল্পীকন্যা চন্দনা হোর The celebrated artist couple, Reba and Somnath Hore ventured out together in search of a greater life. As a strong believer of Communism, together they witnessed the grief of the famine-stricken people, wailing of a city torn apart by riot, cry of the liberation war. Although the unsolved strife of the external world created a deep impression on their creative consciousness, but because of the difference of their personality its resonance in their mind varied completely. In their life full of joy and woe they were truly two individuals. On the eve of the birth centenary of Reba Hore, her daughter Chandana remenisces then with impartial yet deep insight.
