2024 Lorenza Cinsault
The 2024 Bechthold Vineyard Cinsault is a ruby red with aromas of rose petals, cardamon, clove, cinnamon, raspberry and strawberry. Concentrated and bright on the palate with plum skin, cherries, pomegranate. Silky finish. Served chilled! This organically farmed, 24 acre own-rooted vineyard was planted in 1886 in sandy alluvial soil on the west side of the Mokelumne River. Bechthold is the oldest continually farmed Cinsault vineyard in the world. This red bottling is a uniquely bright expression of this vineyard. We hand harvested in early September. Two thirds of the fruit was gently de-stemmed, the remaining was crushed by foot. An indigenous fermentation occurred in stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine was aged in neutral french oak and stainless steel barrels for 9 months. DETAILS 12% alc. 262 cases Farming: Organic, not certified, Lodi Rules AVA: Mokelumne River, Lodi
