The Freecom 2X is Cardo’s latest Bluetooth comms unit, built around their Live Intercom system and upgraded with JBL sound. It’s designed for riders who want solid connection, better audio, and something that just works every time you head out. The Freecom 2X and 4X sit at the front of Cardo’s Bluetooth range. Both run Bluetooth 5.2 and connect to any branded Bluetooth headset. Live Intercom keeps conversations clear and consistent, with a smart auto-reconnect feature that lets riders drop in and out of range without needing to reset the connection. You also get automatic volume adjustment based on ambient noise, plus FM radio and music streaming straight from your phone. Audio is handled by JBL, with 40mm HD speakers and tuned sound profiles that give noticeably better clarity on the move. Whether it’s music, calls, or rider comms, everything comes through clean. Built for real-world use, the unit is fully waterproof and dustproof, so weather isn’t a factor. The control layout uses raised buttons and a roller wheel, making it easy to use with gloves on. Mounting is straightforward and works with most helmets. The Freecom 2X supports a 2-way intercom with a range of up to 800 metres (0.5 miles). The 4X steps that up to a 4-way intercom with a range of up to 1.2 kilometres (0.75 miles). Battery life comes in at up to 13 hours of talk time, with fast USB-C charging.
