Light Through Clay: Hand-Built Lanterns (Make 2) Create your own one-of-a-kind clay lanterns in this beginner-friendly hand-building class. Using simple slab techniques and guided instruction, you’ll design and build two custom lanterns—perfect for adding a warm, handmade glow to your home or outdoor space. While inspiration will be provided, your pieces are completely customizable. Choose to create tabletop lanterns or hanging designs, and personalize them with cutouts, textures, and patterns that reflect your style. No experience is necessary — we’ll guide you through every step. What You’ll Make • Two custom hand-built clay lanterns What To Expect • Step-by-step guidance through basic hand-building techniques • Learn how to roll, shape, and assemble clay slabs into functional forms • Explore design options for both tabletop and hanging lanterns • Add decorative cutouts and textures to create light patterns • Relaxed, creative environment perfect for beginners Supplies Provided • Clay for two lanterns • All tools and materials needed during class • Bisque firing of your pieces • Glazing session at a later date (included in class cost) • Final glaze firing Finished pieces will be ready for glazing approximately 9 Days after your class. Once glazed, they will be kiln-fired again and ready for pickup about 1 week later.
