Wu Liang Ye
Wu Liang Ye (五粮液), a strong aroma baijiu from Sichuan, is one of the best-selling high-end spirits in the world. It is the benchmarking product of Chinese “strong aroma” baijiu and the leading brand in the category. Wu Liang Ye is brewed with a blend of elaborately formulated sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat, and corn. It results in a peppery nose and a complex yet balanced taste with strong notes of pineapple, licorice, and meadow grass. On the palate, it is sweet and smooth, mellow, and refreshing. Originating in Yibin, Sichuan, Wu Liang Ye's recipe was created in 1900 by Chen San and has been used in production ever since. Literally “five-grain liquid,” Wuliangye is known for its complex blend of grains. The earliest crypt-type fermenting cellar pits for baijiu in China are used to brew this liquor, dating back to the Ming Dynasty over 600 years ago. Baijiu | 375ml and 750ml | 52% ABV
