Modern Funk Jacket I — Edition Series This piece is part of a limited, numbered series marking the evolution of Cedric Mitchell’s sculptural language into wearable form. Each jacket is individually signed, transforming the garment into a collectible object rather than a replicated design. Cut in deep black, the jacket serves as a base for controlled disruption—bold graphic interventions move across the surface in a rhythm of arcs, fragments, and color. Rooted in my glass practice, color and geometry are treated as structure, not embellishment. Forms collide, balance, and resolve in a way that feels both instinctive and intentional—precision meeting improvisation in real time. Produced in small runs, no two carry the same weight. Numbered and signed on the interior, each jacket holds its place as part of an ongoing study in form, function, and identity. A wearable extension of the studio.
