This Gilded Serpent Oil on board by Sean Layh (2023 -6). Artwork size: 76 x 124 cm (29.9" x 48.8") Framed. Initially painted to represent the murderous plotting of one of King Lear’s daughters (Goneril) against another (Regan), the painting was reworked in 2026 to represent Lear’s faithful daughter, Cordelia. Here, Cordelia listens to her husband's entreaties while she steals herself to lead a French army back to England to try and liberate her father’s kingdom. - Sean Layh
