Compatibility and Behavior The African Exquisite Wrasse is one of the most colorful Cirrhilabrus fairy wrasse variants. Hailing from African reefs, you can’t miss the “exquisite” green and red coloration, with a particular emphasis on red around its face and gill area that is unique to the African variant. This species is generally peaceful toward most community fish and is reef safe. Exquisite Wrasses tend to be one of the hardier Fairy Wrasse species, making it a versatile option for reef tanks or fish-only systems. Aquarium Requirements Provide a mature saltwater aquarium of at least 70–90 gallons with ample open swimming space and plenty of live rock for cover, hiding, and sleeping retreats. This species usually tucks into rock crevices at night rather than burying in sand, so caves, ledges, and shaded areas in the aquascape are important. A tight-fitting lid or mesh top is essential, as Exquisite Wrasses can jump when startled or chased.
