Pre-owned Samick SIG-50D baby grand piano in polished mahogany, c.2007
Introducing the Samick SIG50 grand piano c.2007 Measuring just 5’0 or 150cm long, the Samick SIG50 is comparable to the new Yamaha GB1K and Kawai GL-10 in size, and is a great value second hand purchase if the budget won’t quite stretch to that of the new piano. Manufactured in Indonesia in 2007 and designed by a highly regarded German piano designer, the SIG50D is a well-engineered instrument featuring premium European components such as Roslau steel treble strings, German felts and Delignit laminated maple pin-block. Its cabinet is finished in an attractive mahogany veneer with a high-gloss lacquer finish and brass fittings, all in excellent condition and with little-to-no sun-bleaching to be found. It features a two position lid prop, meaning the lid can be fully open, half open or closed, and the fallboard is fitted with a soft-close mechanism to prevent trapped fingers. The action has been freshly serviced and shows very little sign of wear, medium weight and with a warm tone, not too mellow or too bright. Ideal for the intermediate pianist, the pre-owned SIG-50D is a great value instrument and a handsome furniture piece. Dominic Barnett – Chamberlain Pianos
