SIG CLUB PRICE Divergence Wines 2022 Chardonnay Brut

A Blanc de Blancs by any other name, this wine seemed worthy of varietal characterization as it exudes Chardonnay much more than the neutrality that is sought in most sparkling base wines. This is a wine of balance, from harvest date in an unusual vintage, to blending barrel and tank fermentation, malolactic and no malolactic conversion in the different vessels, and finally the balance of toasty autolytic character with tropical fruits after 3 years aging on lees. At disgorging in May of 2026 this wine was finished with a 2 g/L dosage, once again, finding a perfect balance for this wine between rich and refreshing.
