Alex Craighead - Home White 2023

(Nelson, New Zealand) Alex is known for his innovative use of blends, this one being largely Chardonnay with 1/5 Vermentino grapes. Incredibly clean, with a lovely combination of delicate, detailed fruit, rich flavour due to the long elévage, and a clear line of textured salinity throughout. Alex Craighead has been one of the leading figures in New Zealand’s move towards organic viticulture and low-intervention winemaking over the past decade, known for his Kindeli project. His new range of Home wines began as a separate, entirely estate-grown range: a more focused expression of the place Alex and Josefina have spent years farming and understanding. These wines are now evolving into Alex Craighead Wines.
