The Vega Avett Star Signature Banjo

This signature Deering open back banjo offers a more intimate, organic voice—while carrying the same artistic identity as its resonator counterpart. Designed in collaboration with Scott Avett, every detail reflects a shared vision of sound, feel, and design. Inspired by the classic Vega Vintage Star, this model features a 12" rim and a Dobson tone ring, producing a warm, rounded tone with a soft attack and natural sustain. The larger rim adds depth and presence, making it especially suited for expressive, nuanced playing. As with the series, the visual character is unmistakable. Custom inlays, designed by Scott himself, appear on the fingerboard, giving the instrument a personal and recognizable style, while the peghead of this openback model is the classic Vega star. This is more than an openback banjo—it’s a quieter, more reflective side of the same creative voice.
