Lauakāne Button Up Aloha Shirt- Mustard

This button up aloha shirt features our Lauakāne print on Mustard material with Bonsai ink. Lauakāne The ʻawa is kinolau of Kāne, hence the name. Significant is the term "lau" which suggests many, multiples, numerous. The word often means abundant, and wealth. The original design was done in the early 1990s and as we revisited it at this time, I sat with Daniel Hoskins to share my thoughts during the fabric layout process. As he moved the mouse and I pointed and spoke, this design became our collaboration. The rows of leaves appear almost naturally in the garden. It is this personal insight that we have attempted to share with the viewer. Button Up Aloha Shirt Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Button Up is an open front, tapered shirt with a full length placket. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
