Designs should generally stitch from the center outward and from the brim upward to help minimize shifting and distortion. Keep the entire design within the designated sewing area of the cap and frame. Most caps perform best with a sharp embroidery needle. If needle breaks occur, check your hooping technique and make sure the cap is securely positioned as close to the needle plate as possible. For additional stability, a longer piece of backing that covers approximately two-thirds of the cap may improve hooping and help reduce flagging.
