Zeus with Thunderbolt Small Statue

Zeus was one of the twelve Olympian Greek gods who presided over daily human life. This King of the gods controlled thunder and lightning and often used lightning as a weapon, holding the bolt like a javelin. The child of Cronus and Rhea, Zeus avoided being eaten by his father at an early age with the help of his mother, who then hid Zeus on the island of Crete. Zeus grew up and, unbeknownst to Cronus, became his cupbearer. When Zeus mixed a potion into Cronus' wine, Cronus became ill and threw up all the children he had eaten. Zeus, along with his brother and sisters, then rebelled against Cronus in the Titan's War. Zeus defeated the Titans and became the King of Olympus. Carefree, wise, fair, and unpredictable are hallmarks of Zeus’s personality, he could be just and merciful while at the same time easily angered. Zeus was a lover with no boundaries; he had seven wives and many affairs with both goddesses and mortal women. This small statue depicts Zeus with an eagle on one arm, holding a lightning bolt in the other hand. It is crafted in polystone with a bronze metallic finish and colored accents.
