Roasted Sobacha
Buckwheat Tea, known as memil-cha in Korea, soba-cha in Japan, and kuqiao-cha in China, is a nostalgic, caffeine-free brew that many Asian cultures have enjoyed for centuries for both its taste and health benefits. Sobacha has been used to help with gut ailments and is often consumed when someone is feeling under the weather and in need of a nourishing boost. Buckwheat tea is rich in antioxidants, including rutin, quercetin, and catechins (the latter of which are also found in the tea plant camellia sinensis)! Specifically, the rutin in sobacha may help with heart health. Our Roasted Sobacha is made from an heirloom variety of buckwheat sourced from the Nagano region of Japan, which is famous for its soba noodle production. This particular variety is fired to create the toasted, caramelized flavor.
