VEDDER RANCH - YEAST WASHED - GEISHA (GREEN)

This unroasted green coffee is intended for home roasters and small cafes. Vedder Ranch is an idyllic coffee farm situated in the foothills above Carpinteria, a laidback beach town in Santa Barbara County. There coffee grows looking out at the Pacific Ocean—these trees are grown at an altitude of just 130 MASL! Though that altitude might seem low, California's high latitude and the cooling coastal influence provides conditions similar to high altitude coffee farms in the tropics yielding extended cherry maturation times leading to coffees of uncommon complexity, like this delicious Geisha. This Geisha leans fruity, with hints of pear, candied orange, and Meyer lemon given structure by a backbone of creamy milk cocoa and caramel with a brisk tea-like maltiness in the finish.
