Courthouse Orange Peel – an in-person group workshop, London, November 7th
EARLY BIRD PRICE AVAILABLE UNTIL 30th OF JUNE This is an in-person course consisting of a one-hour ‘Get Ready!’ session on Zoom to discuss colour, templates and what you need to prep, followed a few weeks later by the workshop in the Zen Studio at Uncommon Fulham, London, SW6 4LZ. Read more about the venue HERE. Sewing machines kindly supplied by Janome UK. In this block-based workshop we’ll be playing with my latest quilt block, the Courthouse Orange Peel. With thorough step by step instructions, lots of colour play and in depth demos this block will enhance your skills, especially your curve and precision piecing. If you enjoy making this 10 1/2” block you might choose to make 15 more and create a 42” quilt. The blocks can be made using the PSS custom acrylic templates* or the paper templates included with this pattern. Itinerary: Prep session – Tuesday October 6th, 6pm BST World Time Buddy Workshop – Saturday, November 7th 10am – 5pm Included: •One hour prep session (via zoom) •In-person workshop •PDF paper templates for you to print •PDF of the CHOP pattern (10 1/2” block) •The recording of the prep session Supplies list: •Quality fine sewing thread (40 or 50wt) in neutral or to match your project •Cutting mat •Rotary cutter •Long gridded ruler •Pins •Seam ripper •Access to a printer (for the paper templates) OR my Acrylic templates* Level: Suitable for intermediate quilters but adventurous beginners should also feel encouraged to join. No previous curve experience is required but general quilting knowledge is assumed (how to use a rotary cutter, sew with an accurate seam allowance etc) and an affection for precision will surely help. * we’ll be using the Multiple Drunkard’s Path sets for this class.
