Dragons Of Ara

Born from fire and smoke, this raku vessel draws its inspiration from the Dragons of Ara. Waves of iridescent copper, deep sapphire, emerald, and violet flow across its surface like celestial fire, echoing the turbulent clouds and hidden stellar nurseries that lie within the constellation. Ancient in appearance yet unmistakably cosmic, it captures the feeling of a forgotten world suspended among the stars. Ara, the celestial Altar, rests deep within the glowing band of the Milky Way where dense clouds of gas and dust give birth to new stars. This vase is both sculpture and vessel; a small fragment of the cosmos brought into the home. Each shift of light reveals new colours and textures, much like the hidden landscapes that emerge from the depths of space through the lens of a telescope. A reminder that even within the darkest reaches of the universe, beauty is continually being forged. No two raku pieces ever emerge the same. During the firing process, flame, smoke, and oxygen interact unpredictably with the glaze, creating rich metallic tones and layered color fields that resemble distant nebulae and galaxies.
