More Love Than Before

More Love Than Before was created for a collector who had originally purchased Realizations, a painting from my EFFERVESCENCE collection. When I discovered that the original had been damaged in storage, I offered to create a new work inspired by it. Because poured paintings can never be exactly replicated—the movement of the paint depends on gravity, consistency, drying time, and countless other small variables—this painting became something entirely its own. As I worked on it, I learned that the collector and his family were welcoming a new baby boy. His young daughter, already fascinated by colour and drawing, followed along as I shared photographs of the painting taking shape. The work eventually became a celebration of this new chapter in their family, and More Love Than Before felt like the perfect title: a joyful painting for a family whose love had just grown a little bigger.
