This Espumante comes from a small producer in the Vinho Verde region of Northern Portugal A growers own espumante made with 100% Avesso grapes using the traditional champagne methods. This particular vineyard is family owned and is run by the very enthusiastic and passionate Micaela Fonseca. Originally trained as an architect her love for the vineyard brought her back from the city and she has injected a youthful vibrancy into the wines which are winning awards around the globe. The vineyard itself is in a micro climate which reflects the soil and weather conditions of the Champagne region in France. This is obvious when you taste the wine, fine even bubbles, a lemony acidity with a fresh long finish. A fantastic celebration wine delicious with or without food
