Superb Vintage Georg Jensen Sterling Silver & Amethyst Cuff Bangle - #188 By Poul Hansen

A beautiful and timeless piece of Danish design: this classic Georg Jensen cuff bangle was designed by Poul Hansen in 1968 (model #188). It features a sculptural open cuff style Sterling silver bangle, a striking round Amethyst cabochon measuring 15 mm bezel set flush in the centre. As the bangle is an open cuff style, it slips on easily and adjusts to fit a wide range of wrist sizes, and It measures approximately 2.2 cm at its widest point (around the Amethyst) and gently tapers to 1.4 cm at the openings. The inner circumference is roughly 20cm, so it accommodates many wrists comfortably. It weighs a very substantial 52.05 grams, giving it that satisfying Georg Jensen presence and quality feel. The bangle carries authentic post-1945 Georg Jensen hallmarks, along with the GJLd London import mark and UK import stamps. The gentle wear and softer finish on the Sterling silver give it a lovely, ever so slightly lived-in character — exactly the kind of natural patina that develops beautifully over decades!
