Good alcohol resistance (up to 15% vol.) and a large temperature range. EC-1118 (Lalvin) — 18% alcohol tolerance. For white wines, sparkling wines, ciders, and restarting stuck fermentations. K1V-1116 (Lalvin) — Isolated in 1972 by Pierre Barre of INRA Montpellier. Performs well at low fermentation temperatures. Lalvin ICV D-47 — Isolated from grapes grown in the Côtes-du-Rhône region of France. Premier Blanc (Red Star) — Strong strain with very high alcohol tolerance (over 16% vol.). Used to avoid or restart sluggish/stuck fermentations. RC-212 (Lalvin) — Isolated in the Burgundy region of France by the BIVB.
