Why the corners matter at 48 inches A 48 x 36 rectangle above a double vanity is a lot of flat surface. Rounding the corners takes the weight out of it — the mirror still fills the wall but stops reading as a slab. At the smaller sizes it is a subtle softening. At 48 inches it is the difference between the mirror sitting in the room and dominating it. MIZAR or DENEB? DENEB has square corners, comes only in brushed black, and is 1.5 inches deep. MIZAR has rounded corners, comes in matte black or brushed gold, and is 1.72 inches deep. DENEB is the more architectural. MIZAR is the easier one to place. Sizing a double vanity For a 60-inch double vanity, the 48-inch centered leaves 6 inches on each side. Or use two 24-inch mirrors, one over each sink. The single 48 is the cleaner look; two mirrors are more practical if the sinks are far apart. Which finish Matte black powder coat for daily-use bathrooms — it hides fingerprints. Brushed gold electroplate for guest baths where the look leads. Gold costs more because electroplating is more process steps, not because of the color. CRI 90+ is the number everyone quotes. R9 is the one that matters. R9 measures deep red rendering — the wavelength your complexion, your lips and your blush actually live in.
