Eden Valley Riesling, Thorn-Clarke

As a 6th generation grape grower, the Thorn-Clarke family are custodians of 240 hectares of vineyard that includes holdings in some of the most southerly and northerly sites in the Barossa region. Their Mt Crawford vineyard in the Eden Valley produces exception Riesling grapes. Daily vineyard visits to assess maturity ensured that the grapes were picked at the optimal level of ripeness. Harvested at during the cool of the night, the grapes were gently pressed to tank retaining their natural acidity and freshness. Fermentation was at low temperatures to ensure that the preservation of the delicate aromas and flavours. After fermentation, the wine was stabilised and carefully filtered then bottled. This Eden Valley Riesling drinks beautifully as a young wine while promising an evolving experience, getting more complex with time in the bottle. Aromas of fresh lime and lemon aromatics on the nose following through onto the palate along with the trademark minerality and the vibrant acid line synonymous with the region. Precise, perfumed, and a delicious core of mouth-watering fruit.
