Gold filled discs, also known as rolled gold or gold bonded are created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal - usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable. The gold chain length is 17.5 inches extendable to 19.5 inches.
