VINTAGE 1940’s 14ct GOLD ART-DECO STYLE TANK CASE WATCH WITH GEM-SET DIAL
VINTAGE 1940’s 14ct GOLD ART-DECO STYLE TANK CASE WATCH WITH GEM-SET DIAL. This fabulous gentlemen’s art-deco inspired watch was manufactured by the well known quality manufacturer ‘Chalet’ sometime during the early 1940’s. T The beautiful and highly elaborate tank case manufactured in solid 14ct gold, measures 24mm across not including the crown and 34mm tip-to-tip. The case is in very, very nice condition, with no dings or scratches and nice sharp edges to the shoulders etc. The snap-on back is in pristine condition, with 14ct gold hallmark to the exterior. The original silvered dial is very, very nice indeed. With white gemstones, quite possibly diamonds, but they have not been tested. Simply signed ’Chalet – 17 jewels’ and with subsidiary seconds. The 17 jewel movement is in good order and looks to have had little use. The original cabachon-set winding crown is still present and in perfect condition, with very little wear. The watch is running well, winding / setting correctly as it should. We have fitted a new, quality alligator-grain leather strap to this one. A super watch, of very nice quality and one which would have cost a pretty penny when new.
