Passiflora ligularis 4" pot
Sweet Granadilla. This passiflora has one of the best fruit of any passion fruit. It also has beautiful blue and white flowers with large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves. This species is grown commercially for its sweet, orangish, egg-shaped fruits. Dislikes overly warm weather and may be hard to get to fruit in a pot. Needs a different passion vine to pollinate it in order to get fruit. Subgenus: Passiflora. Photo courtesy of John Ocampo. Light: Full sun, part shade. There will be less flowers in part shade. Water: Moderate. Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained. Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers. Hardiness: Zone 10.
