1950s Weiss Silver Crystal Tennis Bracelet
This classic 1950s tennis style bracelet by Weiss has two rows of round Austrian crystals, held in prongs and set into silver-toned metal. Art Deco-style detailing finishes the ends, and it fastens with a rhinestone-studded fold-over clasp. “WEISS” is engraved on the reverse of the clasp. Weiss was an American company, founded by Albert Weiss in New York in 1942 and known for the quality and brilliance of its Austrian crystals. Its jewellery was retailed at some of the best US department stores including Altman’s in New York. The “tennis bracelet” name was coined much later and is associated with Chris Evert, who lost her diamond bracelet during the 1978 US Open. Play was temporarily stopped while she searched for it. This bracelet is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. Please check our measurements below. MEASUREMENTS LENGTH - 7 in. (18 cm) WIDTH - 0.5 in. (1.3 cm)
