Cassette Trilogy

Bundle including all three Blackbraid full-length albums on cassette. BLACKBRAID I: The debut that took the metal world by storm and reshaped the landscape of USBM as we know it. Blackbraid I introduced a sound all its own: atmospheric black metal driven by melodic fervor, carried by haunting flute passages, and grounded in a deep reverence for the natural world. Drawing its inspirations from the vast wilderness of the Adirondack Mountains and Indigenous spirituality, it moves between raw aggression, sweeping melody, and moments of tranquil stillness. BLACKBRAID II: Written in tandem with the debut, Blackbraid II both cements the project’s signature sound and pushes past its edges. It’s bigger and bolder in every direction; reaching further into spiraling narrative with richer atmosphere and sonorous melodies. Relentless black metal gives way to expansive soundscapes, and bursts of melodic death metal and thrash are woven seamlessly throughout. BLACKBRAID III: Blackbraid III plunges headlong into cold fury, fully and confidently embracing its sonic roots in Scandinavian black metal, expertly reimagined through the Adirondack wilderness Blackbraid calls home. The wonder of the first two records gives way to a heavier, more mournful mood. Grief and rage pull against each other at every turn, giving the album a weight that lingers long after the last note fades. Darker and more ritualistic than anything before it, this is Blackbraid at its most unrelenting.
