Domaine Rebourgeon-Mure Pommard 1er Cru 'Clos de Charmots' 2022 (750ml)
Domaine Rebourgeon-Mure is one of the oldest family names in Pommard. Its roots go back to 1552, when an ancestor named Jean Bourgogne came to the village and leased vines from a local abbey. Today David Rebourgeon and his father, Daniel, farm about seven hectares in Pommard, Volnay and Beaune from their cellar on the Grande Rue, just above the village square. They practice lutte raisonnée, which means ploughing instead of herbicides and spraying only when the weather calls for it. They also keep yields low so each premier cru shows its own site. The Clos des Charmots is a walled parcel in the Pommard premier cru Les Charmots, on the slope just above the famous Grands Épenots. Its old vines, planted in 1901 and 1925, root deep into clay soils and give small crops of concentrated Pinot Noir. The warm, generous 2022 vintage produced a rich, round Pommard with dark black fruit and sweet, polished tannins, built to age gracefully over the next decade.
