Grape 56% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot. Tasting notes The 2019 Château La Tour de Mons is a well-regarded Margaux that exemplifies the appellation’s hallmark balance and finesse. The nose is complex and inviting, with layers of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, and dark cherries, gently lifted by subtle notes of cedar, tobacco, vanilla, and a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is smooth and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a medium to full body. It offers a harmonious interplay of fruit and oak, with a finish that reveals hints of pepper and a slightly green freshness, adding lift and complexity. Approachable in its youth with a bit of aeration, this vintage also shows promising aging potential, making it a versatile choice for both early enjoyment and cellaring. Expert Ratings Wine Enthusiast 94 Points James Suckling 93 Points More About The Winery Château La Tour de Mons traces its origins back to 1098, making it one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. The property took its name from Pierre de Mons, who acquired it in 1623, and since 2020 it has been owned by the Perrodo family, also proprietors of Château Labégorce. The vineyard forms a single 58-hectare block enclosed by walls in the northern part of the Margaux appellation, on gravelly soils typical of the finest Médoc terroirs. This historic, walled single-parcel vineyard gives the wines a distinctive consistency and sense of place, vinified with meticulous attention to the estate's classic Margaux character.
