XL Middleton - Private Press

XL Middleton’s Private Press combines the rubbery bass and bright synthesizers of modern funk with songs about love, community and political life. Released on his MoFunk Records label, the album treats its title as both a nod to independently pressed records and a reflection of the music’s personal subjects.Moniquea, Zackey Force Funk, Teddy Becks of The Jack Moves and Kevin ‘Slow Jammin’ James contribute guest appearances. ‘When You On The Line’ offers reassurance to a partner, while ‘Realtors At My Door’ responds to the 2025 fires around the Altadena neighbourhood where Middleton grew up.Label: MoFunk Records Format: LP Cat No: MOFUNK060 Expected Release: 4 December 2026 (estimated) Genre / Style: Funk / Modern Funk / Boogie / Hip HopTracklist A1.
