Short-Sleeve Peplum Jacket & Wide-Leg Trouser Set — Tailored Co-ord A tailored two-piece set built around a fitted jacket and a matching pair of high-waisted trousers. The jacket is collarless, cut close through the waist and then let out into a soft peplum that sits over the hip — which is what gives it a waist at all without any boning or structure. Short sleeves are gathered slightly at the shoulder so they sit away from the arm rather than gripping it, and the front closes with a clean run of six matching buttons. There is a flap pocket on the hip, set into the peplum. The trousers are the counterweight: high-waisted, cut wide and full from the hip, and gathered back in at the ankle so the volume reads as deliberate rather than shapeless. Together the two pieces hold a straight line from shoulder to ankle, which is why the set wears as one outfit rather than two separates. Why this set works A peplum that earns its place. The jacket is fitted to the waist and then flares over the hip — so it defines a waistline on its own, with no belt and no shaping underneath. Collarless and short-sleeved. A clean round neckline with nothing to fold or fuss with, and short gathered sleeves that keep the shoulder line soft. Six matching buttons. A single row of covered buttons down the front, so the jacket works buttoned as a top or open over a slip or a vest. High-waisted, wide-leg trousers. The waist sits high and the leg runs wide and full from the hip, then gathers back in at the ankle. A flap pocket set into the peplum. A real pocket with a flap, angled into the flare — useful, and it reinforces the jacket's shape. A matte, lightly structured weave. It holds a crease and a fold rather than draping limply, which is what keeps the peplum and the wide leg looking intentional. Three colourways. Powder Blue, Black and Apricot White — the Blue and Apricot read as a soft neutral, the Black as a sharp tailored one. Size guide These are the published measurements for this set, in centimetres with inches alongside. It is made in four sizes: S, M, L and XL. Chest, shoulder, waist and hip are garment measurements taken all the way around, not body measurements — compare them with the same measurement taken on a garment you already own. The figures come from measuring the product by hand and may vary by 1–3 cm. The jacket — fitted through the waist, so the chest figure is what decides your size. Jacket S M L XL Length 62 cm / 24.4 in 63 cm / 24.8 in 64 cm / 25.2 in 65 cm / 25.6 in Chest 92 cm / 36.2 in 96 cm / 37.8 in 100 cm / 39.4 in 104 cm / 40.9 in Shoulder width 34 cm / 13.4 in 35 cm / 13.8 in 36 cm / 14.2 in 37 cm / 14.6 in Sleeve, shoulder to hem 22 cm / 8.7 in 23 cm / 9.1 in 24 cm / 9.4 in 25 cm / 9.8 in Sleeve opening 25 cm / 9.8 in 26 cm / 10.2 in 27 cm / 10.6 in 28 cm / 11.0 in The trousers — high-waisted and wide-legged. The waist figure is the one that decides your size here. Trousers S M L XL Length 105 cm / 41.3 in 106 cm / 41.7 in 107 cm / 42.1 in 108 cm / 42.5 in Waist 68 cm / 26.8 in 72 cm / 28.3 in 76 cm / 29.9 in 80 cm / 31.5 in Hip 104 cm / 40.9 in 108 cm / 42.5 in 112 cm / 44.1 in 116 cm / 45.7 in Leg opening 25 cm / 9.8 in 27 cm / 10.6 in 29 cm / 11.4 in 31 cm / 12.2 in How to read it: the trouser waist runs 68 cm at S to 80 cm at XL in 4 cm steps, and the hip runs 104 cm to 116 cm. Note that the wide leg gathers back in above the ankle, so the leg-opening figure (25–31 cm) is the narrow ankle opening, not the width of the trouser through the leg. If you are between sizes on the jacket, take the larger one — the chest measurement is the fitting point. Fit and how to wear it Buttoned as a top. Done up, the jacket reads as a fitted top on its own — the peplum covers the waistband of the trousers, so the join disappears. Open as a layer. Undone over a slip, a vest or a fine knit, the peplum still holds the shape and the wide leg carries the volume. Where the jacket ends. The jacket finishes at the top of the hip — around 62–65 cm from the shoulder — so it covers the waistband without cutting the leg short. On shoes. The trousers are cut long (105–108 cm from the waist) and gather at the ankle, so they sit best over a heel or a pointed flat. With a low shoe they may need taking up. On the ankle. The gathered ankle opening is narrow by design — that is what makes the wide leg read as a balloon shape rather than a straight palazzo. Fabric and care The cloth is a matte, lightly structured weave with a soft sheen and a fine surface texture. It is not a fluid drape and it is not shiny: it holds a fold, which is what keeps the peplum standing and the wide leg looking shaped rather than limp. It creases through wear, and pressing brings it straight back. Care Wash cool, on a gentle or hand-wash cycle. Do not bleach. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight; do not tumble dry. Warm iron, pressing on the inside where you can — a hot iron directly on a matte weave can leave a shine. Press the peplum and the button placket after washing to bring the shape back. Questions Is this two pieces or one? Two separate pieces — a short-sleeve peplum jacket and a pair of high-waisted wide-leg trousers. The price is for the set. Can I wear the pieces separately? Yes. The jacket works alone with jeans or a straight skirt, and the trousers work with a fitted knit or a plain tee. Nothing ties you to wearing both at once. Is the jacket fitted or loose? Fitted. It is cut close through the chest and waist and then flares out over the hip into the peplum, so it has shape without being tight. If you are between sizes, take the larger one. How long are the trousers? Long. They run 105 cm at S to 108 cm at XL measured from the waist, and they gather at the ankle rather than finishing straight, so on a shorter frame expect to have them taken up. What is the leg opening? 25–31 cm, depending on size — that is the narrow gathered opening at the ankle, not the width of the trouser through the leg, which is cut wide and full from the hip. Is it see-through? The cloth has body to it and holds its shape, so the two darker colourways are fully opaque. The Apricot White is a light tone; as with any light tailored weave, a strongly contrasting underlayer can show in bright backlight, so a neutral layer underneath is the safe choice.
