The Level 2 Award in instructing Water-based Exercise is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to plan, prepare and deliver safe but effective group water-based exercise sessions. Learners are taught the principles of instructing water-based exercise and how the properties of water can affect exercise. They will also learn the additional health and safety requirements that are needed for delivering sessions in a water-based environment. Course Content The aim of this qualification is to train learners, who already have knowledge and skills in fitness instruction, to a professionally competent level to plan and deliver safe and effective water-based (Aqua) exercises and classes. Training includes: Plan a safe and effective water-based exercise sessions Benefits of water-based exercise Risks and hazards Environment Effects of thermoregulation Exercises in shallow and deep water Identify Equipment Types of Music Communication skills Study Format Your course consists of Online Study and video submission of your practical session. You will complete your Learner Achievement Portfolio (LAP) and a practical assessment. Your e-learning log-in will be sent to you within 3 working days of enrolment and your tutor will be in touch with you to welcome you personally to the course and help to plan your assessment date and time.
