Do not use DOT brake fluid or standard/high-viscosity mineral oil. Shimano’s Low Viscosity Oil is designed to maintain consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range, helping provide stable piston movement and consistent braking performance. 🧊 Rotor Compatibility For optimum performance, Shimano recommends pairing these brakes with compatible Ice Technologies Center Lock disc brake rotors. Suitable rotor sizes include: 160mm 180mm 203mm ⚠️ Rotor and caliper adapters are NOT included. This gives you the flexibility to choose the appropriate rotor and mounting configuration for your particular bike. Please check your existing setup and your fork/frame manufacturer’s specifications before selecting rotor size and any required adapter. 🛠️ Installation & Hose Adjustment The brake is supplied with a long enough hose for its intended front or rear application, allowing the hose to be shortened where required. The kit includes spare olives and an insert should you need to cut the hose to achieve the correct length. For best results, hose cutting and re-fitting should be carried out using the appropriate Shimano tools and procedures.
