Victorian Gilt and Imitation Emerald, Ruby and Pearl Brooch circa 1860

This extraordinary Victorian antique brooch, circa 1860, is an early example of what we would call "costume jewelry." Incredibly detailed knot setting with beautiful green glass resembling "emeralds", pinkish red glass "rubies" and imitation pearls set in a wonderful yellow gold colored metal.
